Madisa is a wonderful campsite in Damaraland in prime desert-elephant country and under new management since July 2014.
Perfect for your self-drive camping tour of Namibia, Madisa is an excellent camping option with private toilets and facilities and delightful swimming pool built around an enormous rock.
Camping in Namibia is an obsession and in this country less is more when it comes to an enjoyable camping experience where, once the basics are covered, you?re pretty much left to your own devices. Those basics are well covered at Madisa and they include a private elevated ablution facility for every campsite, with a fire-heated boiler, flushing toilets and a view of the riverbed.
The campsites at Madisa are spotless and well-spaced apart and demarcated with low walls beneath sprawling Mopane trees. A barbecue area and table comprise your cooking and kitchen facilities and the stunning view, desert elephants ambling past if you?re lucky, the serenity and the great open Namibian sky comprise your entertainment.
The newly constructed Safari Tents provide a unique and little more luxurious option to camping. These large A Frame tents each with their own rock bathroom are fully equipped with linen and provide a little braai area for self catering.They have beautiful views and are a great way to experience this magnificent area.
Madisa is the perfect place to set yourself up at and use it as a base point to do all your exploring from. Twyfelfontein, Brandberg, petrified forest and much more are all in an easy driving distance and make for a nice days exploring in the area, in the evening it?s great to get back have a swim and relax in your campsite under a blanket of stars.
