We strive to create an atmosphere where guests not only feel at home, but also enjoy nature and the outdoors, away from the hustle and bustle of city life. As Verlatenkloof is also a working farm, our guests are often excited to experience the wonder of a ewe lambing, or enjoy watching the geese, springbok &, tortoise in our animal pen. Our guests are free to walk on the farm and also follow the sheep trail right to the top of the mountain where they can enjoy the wonderful view of rolling hills.
After the winter rains the fields boast the most beautiful Namaqua wild flowers. So, remember to bring your camera, it’s a feast for the eye!
For 4×4 enthusiasts we have a self-drive route with a difficulty degree of 3-4. Low range is required as some parts are quite steep. However, the views along the route are amazing. We therefore recommend that guests make a day of it to allow enough time at the view points.
Our farm is ideal for nature lovers, bird-watchers, family get-togethers, team building and even 4×4- or motor cycle clubs. We strive that our guests will take home fond memories of star-filled evenings spent with family and friends around the braai fire in the ‘geelbos’ boma.
Although we hope to expand and build a few more cottages in future, we will always endeavour to keep Verlatenkloof as a family-run guest farm to ensure that the personal touch we have at present, will remain.
